# Services

> How to create and edit services

## Overview

Go to **Services** → **Services** (Þjónustur). Services are grouped by category.

## New service

1. Find the right category in the list
2. Click **Add service** (Bæta við þjónustu)
3. Fill in basic information
4. Save — the visual editor opens to add content

## Edit a service

Click **Edit** next to a service to open the visual editor. Edit content blocks the same way as on pages.

## General information

On the service edit page (outside the editor) you can set:

* Name and slug
* Short description
* Image and icon
* Whether the service is **Active** (Virkt)

## Content on the site

Service content (text, images, lists) is built in the **visual editor** — see [Visual editor](/en/03-pages-and-editor/visual-editor).

  Inactive services do not appear on the site, even if content exists.

## Translations

If multiple languages are active, translate name and content for each language separately.
